Dalai Lama Fellows invites you to participate in the first Conversations Matter event of the year: "Leadership Reimagined and Cross-Cultural Cooperation."
In March of 2016, when we asked the Dalai Lama what we can do now to help solve global challenges, he answered, "We need more dialogue to address the issues we are facing around the world." In response, we launched a series of free public events, consisting of conversations and participatory experiences on the topic of moral courage and compassion. These events bring together a community of individuals from diverse life experiences for an evening of authentic sharing in a welcoming space and offer practices that can inspire compassion and courage in our daily lives.
On Wednesday, February 15, we are excited to be in conversation with Dr. Michael Sepidoza Campos and Miriam Uribe to explore the importance of cross-cultural cooperation in leadership. Through conversation and experiential practices, we will explore how we can all find a common, shared humanity and work across our differences to be leaders in our communities, at work and in society at large.
Dr. Michael Sepidoza Campos researches at the intersection of Filipino-American diaspora, postcolonial theory, queer theory, and critical pedagogy. He has published numerous writings on queer life and religion and has served as steering committee co-chair for the Asian, North American Religion, Culture, and Society Group at the American Academy of Religion. Michael is a faculty member at Stuart Hall High School and former adjunct faculty with the Yuchengco Philippine Studies Program at the University of San Francisco.
Miriam Uribe, a student leader at the University of San Francisco, is an Advocate for Community Engagement (ACE) at the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good. She works closely with Generation Citizen, a nonprofit that empowers young people to be engaged and effective citizens. Miriam is passionate about social justice and immigrant rights. She has participated in multiple advocacy campaigns and has traveled to Washington D.C. to advocate for immigration reform and criminal justice reform.

Dalai Lama Fellows, founded in 2010 with authorization and support of the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, is cultivating and supporting a global movement of next generation leaders applying universal values to solve global challenges. Dalai Lama Fellows has become a pioneer in integrating contemplative practices and universal values within programs for leadership and social change. Our program is independent, secular and ecumenical.
