About this Event

Join us to hear how The Affordability Project works, why it is succeeding in one of the most challenging housing markets in the world, and what it could mean for the future of our city. Whether you care about housing, philanthropy, public policy, or community impact, this conversation offers practical insight and real possibility. Come be part of a room where bold ideas meet measurable results and where the next chapter of affordable housing innovation is already being written.

Housing affordability in San Francisco can feel like an unsolvable equation. The Affordability Project is proving otherwise. Founded in 2021, it is building affordable workforce housing completely not-for-profit, without public funds or for-profit investors, powered by philanthropic partners committed to keeping the people who sustain our city housed in the communities they serve . Its inaugural 100-unit development at 5250 3rd Street is funded entirely through donations and is moving forward at a fraction of the typical cost and timeline.
