About this Event
Join us for the SFIC Monthly Breakfast, a fun in-person meet-up where you can catch up with friends, hear educational and inspiring presentations, and enjoy great food.
May's featured speaker is Tyrone Jue, Director of the San Francisco Environment Department. Jue leads citywide climate accountability, coordination, and equity work across buildings, energy, transportation, toxics, waste, and resilience. With more than two decades in local government, he has served across multiple mayoral administrations and also sits on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Board.
Jue is the first Asian American and first person of color to lead the department in its 30-year history. Raised in an immigrant household in San Francisco’s Chinatown and shaped by environmental justice work, he is known for turning climate commitments into measurable public results. He believes climate leadership should protect people in daily life, and that public trust is earned when institutions tell the truth, show their work, and stay accountable to community experience.
He will speak about the intersection of climate action and faith, San Francisco’s leadership, and ways everyone can get involved.
Plus:
A Reflective Moment from Gregory Stevens, Northern California Director of California Interfaith Power & Light.
And hear a Faith Journey story from Rev. Janet Katari, Christ Church Lutheran.
