About the Angel Trio piece by Deon Nielsen Price
The four movements of Angel Trio bear names of beings in angelology. In the heavenly hierarchy, Astarte is Queen of Heaven but is a fallen angel. Humanity suffers greatly; we call on the Divine Physician, Raphael, to heal us. We approach Gabriel, the Keeper of Spiritual Wisdom, to make us wise. Finally, we look to Moroni to Trumpet the Good News from the pinnacle of the temple.
“…Price’s angels are full of life and surprises! They are whimsical, shy, full of delight, sometimes sad, immensely wise yet childlike, sometimes scary because I sense their power, but then not scary because I sense their humor. They are curious and full of fun and mischief in the way they dash our human concepts…” (George Craig-McMillian, songwriter and teacher of Eastern philosophy.)
