Adult Education and Spiritual Formation with the San Francisco Interfaith Council
Encountering 'The Other': How Faith Traditions Help Us Navigate Our Divisions

Please join us for this online Calvary Adult Education program where we will explore what different faiths teach us about treating those who seem different from ourselves, and how our faiths guide our response to a world struggling with divisiveness and racial injustice. Executive Director, Michael Pappas, and Founder/Past Chair, Rita Semel, from the San Francisco Interfaith Council, Calvary's longtime partner in service, will introduce the program and then we will hear from local faith leaders representing the Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian traditions, who will share their perspectives. Join us as we learn how our faiths can help heal our divisions.

The San Francisco Interfaith Council's mission is to celebrate our diverse faiths and spiritual traditions, bring people together to build understanding, and serve our community. Founded by Rev. Jim Emerson and others in 1989, and chaired for many years by Rev. Laird Stuart, the San Francisco Interfaith Council has had a long and close relationship with Calvary. The Council is well known for assisting congregations with disaster preparedness, working on behalf of the homeless, and providing a platform for City government, nonprofit service providers, and the faith community to share information. Faith leaders from a wide variety of faith traditions serve on the Council's board of directors, sfinterfaithcouncil.org.

This Adult Education & Spiritual Formation event will be shown on Facebook and YouTube.
